Epsom Hospital Update
More than 800 attend meetings as hospital campaign is launched
More than eight hundred people have so far attended the series of public meetings being organised by the team campaigning for Epsom Hospital. The meetings, led by Chris Grayling MP and Councillor Chris Frost, and supported by local councillors from the Residents Associations, Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrat Parties, are being held in venues across the area. More will be held in parts of Mole Valley later in May.
At the meetings Chris Grayling launched an area-wide petition and letter writing campaign urging the National Health Service to back Epsom as the best site for future hospital services. Up to 25,000 petition forms are being distributed across the area. The campaign team is also planning a Hospital Action Day on the 29th of May, ahead of the key meeting on June 17th when the NHS will take its decision in principle about the sites for future hospitals.
"This may be our last chance to influence the future of Epsom Hospital," Chris Grayling said. "I am delighted to have had such widespread, and cross-Party support for this campaign. If we all speak with one voice, we may be able to make a difference"
