Epsom Hospital Update

New Maternity Protest Rally

Chris Grayling and staff and unions at Epsom will be holding a protest rally against the proposed changes to maternity at the hospital on Saturday 30th September. All are welcome to join the protest.

The march will leave the Clocktower in Epsom town centre at 10.30 am. It will deliver a protest letter at the hospital, and marchers will then return to the A24 end of Rosebery Park, where there will be a few short speeches, including addresses from Chris and from Geoff Martin of Unison.

Chris said: "I hope that this will be a cross-community effort, involving representatives of all the different groups in the area, and will help remake the point about the strength of feeling in Epsom about the threat to our local hospital. I think it is particularly important to protect Epsom, since the general view among health officials locally now is that it is highly unlikely that the planned new hospital will ever be built."
