Post Office Closure Confirmed

Despite a local campaign that won the support of most residents on the Wells Estate, the Post Office has decided to press ahead with its controversial closure plan for the local sub-post office on the estate. The move leaves Epsom with no surviving sub-post office, and will put even more pressure on the Main Post Office in the centre of Epsom.

"I am hugely disappointed by this news," said Chris Grayling. "This decision will ensure the closure of both the remaining shops on the Wells Estate, and will cause real problems for many residents. The Post Office has only taken this decision because the owners were willing to take early retirement. I think it is wrong that the future of services should be decided based on who is willing to take a pay-off and who is not."
