THOUSANDS MARCH IN SUPPORT OF EPSOM HOSPITAL

Thousands march in support of Epsom Hospital

Several thousand people marched through the centre of Epsom to protest about the proposed cuts to services at Epsom Hospital. They delivered a protest letter to the hospital, and then joined Chris Grayling, Lord Ashley of Stoke, local councillors and representatives of the staff and the union Unison for a rally in Rosebery Park.

The march was organised by Union activist Geoff Martin and Chris Grayling, who were once on opposite ends of the political spectrum on the London Borough of Merton. "It's a sign," Chris told the rally, "of how the threat to Epsom Hospital is uniting people from across the political spectrum, and from all parts of our community"

"I was completely blown away by the scale of the turnout," Chris said afterwards. "I hope that this time the NHS gets the message about how strongly we all feel about our local hospital."

Here are a collection of pictures from the rally.
