Westminster View

Chris was appointed Shadow Home Secretary on 19 January 2009, a wide-ranging brief which includes national security, counter terrorism, policing, and the immigration and asylum system. This is his fourth job in the Shadow Cabinet, after Michael Howard appointed him Shadow Leader of the House after the 2005 general election, and David Cameron made him Shadow Secretary of State for Transport and then Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions after he became leader of the Conservative Party in December 2005.

Shadow Cabinet Visits and Activities

As part of his job as Shadow Home Secretary, Chris spends a lot of time visiting people, projects and organisations involved in law and order and related activities around the country. These are a few of the things he has been doing.
