AFASIC

AFASIC
North Surrey Afasic is a local self-funding branch of the national charity Afasic and they support speech impaired children and young adults. They are based in Ashtead and help families from across Surrey.
Their Summer Activity Weeks give children and young people aged 5-18+ the opportunity to take part in a range of activities that help them to improve their confidence by tackling tasks and challenges with other young people who have similar needs. The activity weeks are conducted under supervision from their volunteers and Youth Leaders – and provide 1-to-1 support for the children. The cost of running the weeks is subsidised by fundraising efforts throughout the year.
They run Friday Clubs for different age groups, during school terms. They are run by volunteer parents and youth workers with young adult helpers to provide a high support ratio. The activities are varied, including craft, games and occasional outings. The senior club is run as a youth club and has frequent outings.
AFASIC is officially registered as a charity, it has been allocated charity number 1045617.
