Dear constituent
ALEC STEWART CHARITY EVENT
I am writing to you on a different subject this time.
You may remember from previous emails that I have been helping the local Foodbank with their project to help families who do not have adequate IT to get laptops or tablets for students to study at home. Although the schools have now gone back, this remains a very live issue for many families.
As part of the campaign, the former England cricket captain and cricket commentator, and current Surrey CCC Director of Cricket, Alec Stewart has kindly agreed to do a zoom event to help raise funds for the project. He will talk about the current state of English cricket after the India test tour and ahead of the Ashes, as well as reminiscing about his time in test cricket. He will then take questions from the audience.
Tickets for the event are £11, with proceeds going to the appeal. There will also be a £5 raffle for a shirt signed by all of the Surrey cricket team, which Alec has kindly agreed to donate.
The event is at 7pm on Thursday 25th March, a few days before we start to escape from lockdown. Please do sign up for what should be a very interesting session.
To purchase a ticket for the event, please go to
https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/alec-stewart-charity-zoom-event-tickets-146581989677
You will receive an acknowledgement of your ticket purchase by email, and we will send out the zoom link for the event to all participants on the morning of Thursday 25th ahead of the event.
I do hope you can join us for an interesting event and for a worthwhile cause.
Wheatsheaf Pub Ewell – Community Hub
I have also had one other local fund raising request. A team of residents in Ewell are raising money to establish a community hub at the Wheatsheaf pub when it reopens. If you are interested in helping them all the details are here.
With best wishes
Chris
