Dear constituent

I am writing with a reminder about the upcoming charity/volunteers fair and also with a request for any of you who have rental properties in the Epsom area.

Charity Volunteer Fair

First of all, for any of you looking for opportunities to volunteer with local charities, a reminder that the Charity Volunteer fair will be happening again on Friday 9th September at the St Giles Dell Centre in Park Lane in Ashtead from 4pm until 6.30pm.

Last year saw many volunteering connections made and this year we are hoping for even more.  There are 22 local charities attending, with a wide range of activities.

So if you are looking for something extra and worthwhile to do with your time, please come along. If you can’t make it, please email me and I will try to match you with the right charity for your interests.

I will look forward to seeing many of you at the event.

Epsom Refugee Network Appeal

I have also been asked by the local Refugee Network to put out a request to any landlords in the Epsom area. It is now coming up to six months since the first Ukrainian refugees came to the area, and they have been hosted by some very generous families.

But now many of them have got jobs locally and have children going to local schools, and they are looking for their own accommodation in the area and to move on from their original host homes for the time being.

If you are in a position where you have a property that will be becoming vacant in the next few months, please do contact the Refugee Network at epsomrefugeenetwork@gmail.com.

They can give you detailed information about who is looking and the financial position for those who have come here as refugees from the war in Ukraine.

I will have a further update on some other matters shortly. In the meantime I hope you are keeping well.

Best wishes

Chris
