Chris  joined Epsom school children on a walk to school campaign. Pupils and parents of Danetree Primary School have been taking part in the ‘Walk Once a Week’ (WoW) campaign, to learn about the benefits of walking to school.

It is run by UK charity Living Streets, one of the UK’s leading behaviour change campaigns for young people.

Chris was joined by Living Streets’ mascot Strider to congratulate the children on their efforts and hand out the WoW badges as they arrived at school.

He  then joined their assembly, where he presented the WoW Class of the Month with a trophy.

He said: “Walking is a great way for children and families to get fit and active and it was fantastic to see so many pupils from Danetree Primary School choose to make their journeys on foot.

“Walking to school helps keep children fit and healthy and the government is committed to ensuring the walk to school is safe and easy for all children. I’d like to see walking as the natural choice for pupils in Epsom and Ewell.”
