Live music and dancing helped launch a new dementia care facility, complete with new wall murals, an activities room and plants.

Residents of Leighton House, in Burgh Heath Road, Epsom, invited their friends along to the event on Friday which featured live music and a buffet made up of a variety of handmade party food and drinks.

Mandi Sibley, the care co-ordinator at Leighton House said: “The opening event was brilliant. Everyone brought a guest, some even had five guests there. We had an entertainer for the guests and a buffet of food and drinks. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the opening itself went really well.”

The home, which is part of the Aims Care Partnership, had a refurbishment and a new dementia care facility built primarily for the residents suffering with dementia. It features wall murals of woodland areas, lots of windows with views into the garden to create a light and airy feel, with trees and other greenery to make it dementia-friendly.
