West Ewell Infant School and Nursery has undergone a significant redevelopment in order to become a four-form infant school. We have had a new hall, kitchen and School Reception office built and to celebrate the artistic talent of our children, we commissioned a beautiful mural by talented artist Becci Kenning, to capture our class name trees throughout the seasons. Each tree is pictured in a particular season, some in blossom, some about to lose their leaves, others in full summer bloom.

The seasons represent the school throughout the school year, and each of the trees can be found on the school site. Every ‘mark’ on the mural was made by a member of WEIS; it is one enormous jigsaw puzzle of original artwork, celebrating the achievement of children’s creativity. The children visited and studied their class tree before commencing their artwork.

The mural is just under 6 metres wide and up to 3.5 metres tall. The art work ranged from print making, painting, drawing, tracing and tree rubbing.

We were visited on Friday 19th September 2014 by Mr Chris Grayling, MP for Epsom and Ewell who joined our flag-raising ceremony and sang the British national anthem for our Ugandan Partnership Day and International Schools Week celebration.

West Ewell Infant School and Nursery has strong links with the Golden Bell School in Uganda.
